Gerry started Irish fiddle in Manchester at the age of eight and was gigging as a paid musician by the age of eleven having developed prowess on a multitude of instruments including accordion, banjo, mandolin and guitar to name a few. These formative years saw him win numerous championship titles including the All Britain and ITV'S "Young Musician of the Year" titles.

Moving to Ireland at the age of fourteen Gerry went on to study music at University College Cork. It was during this period that he was filmed for the TV series "Bringing it all back home."

Gerry joined Irish/world music band Sin É in 1998 who caught the attention of Paddy Maloney (of The Chieftains). The band was consequently signed to his record label (Wicklow Records/BMG) to record the album "Deep Water Drop Off" which fused Irish, jazz, Asian and elements of Dance programming
As well as his own solo projects and his work with Sin É Gerry has also performed and recorded with the likes of Micheál Ó Súilleábháin, Laurie Anderson, Van Morrison and the Irish International Folk Ballet Company.

Gerry has just completed recording on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Irish film "Conspiracy of Silence" (directed by John Deery)
